Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding is the most natural way to feed your baby, but it is not always easy.  The first few weeks can be the most challenging for mums and without help, many give up before the baby is 6 weeks old.

To help support mums and babies, I have set up two Bosom Buddies breastfeeding support groups over the past 3 years.  Bollington Bosom Buddies is run by two La Leche League breastfeeding counsellors, and I run the Oakenclough Bosom Buddies in Wilmslow.

Many mothers have told me they would have given up had it not been for the support of the group in the early weeks, and have really enjoyed their continued breastfeeding relationship with their baby.

If you are struggling to establish breastfeeding or running into difficulties at any stage of feeding, please try to find some skilled help, it can really make a difference.

Go along to a group, where other mums will pass on lots of helpful tips, you will be made very welcome, or ask me to visit you for a one-to-one consultation in the comfort of your own home.

Visit Bosom Buddies when you are pregnant and talk to other mums about what breastfeeding is really like and what helped them most in the early weeks. Drop in if things are going well and you want to meet like other breastfeeding mums and receive encouragement and tips for continued breasfeeding.  Discuss with other mums about their plans for returning to work and tips on continuing with breastfeeding.

At Bosom Buddies, as well lots of practical and emotional support, you will be able to borrow helpful breastfeeding books and leaflets from their libraries.
